So if you have clicked on this website then you are obviously going through some shit right now.

So let’s talk about depression and mental health.
Let me warn you that a bit of a rough life and a bit of Scottish blood makes me a bit confronting and seriously lacking in tact. However, I have found that everything I needed to break the cycle and have a better life was inside of me. I found the self-love needed and I am here to help you find yours.
If you are after sugar-coated bullshit I recommend you find another website. If you can handle the cold hard truth then feel free to read on.

We are not here to help you effectively manage your depression but rather to help you get out of your depression IF you are ready. No one else is coming to save you or make you feel better. It is only something that you can do.

Depression is not something that we choose to suffer from. For most of us life just turned shitty and that is just where we ended up without even making conscious decisions to get there. However to overcome our depression we have to make a conscious choice.

If you really want to overcome your depression we can help you but you have to be prepared to help yourself. If you aren’t prepared to put in the effort then stop reading now.

It is a proven fact that if you keep doing the same things then things will stay the same. If you really want things to change then make the decision and step out of your comfort zone and make the bloody changes.
Make the decision!
It really is that simple.
Everything you need is right here at your fingertips.

Now is where you think to yourself…’but you don’t understand what I am going through or what I have been through’.
Cut your shit right there. It is time to look in the mirror!

I don’t say this from a medical background but rather from personal experience. Yes it was a choice. Now I take full ownership of my bullshit and I can see now it was my stupid choices and reactions to situations and my own thinking that led me to my own personal hell. I agree that life can suck but it is how we choose to react to it that makes all the difference. I suffered with my depression for years until it got to the point I knew I’d had enough. Making the decision to do something about it was a choice. That is where the change begins.

Here is just a bit of my story.

I had some traumatic stuff happen when I was younger. I was teased and tormented, abused, bashed, molested, lost a loved one, lived on the streets, had a friend die in my arms from a drug overdose, was raped and was held in custody under the threat of an attempted manslaughter charge. All by the time I was 15. Yeah I was an angry kid and certainly didn’t make life easy for myself or anyone else around me. At 18 I was diagnosed with Endometriosis, Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome and IBS, so my health issues didn’t help either.

I did however try to move forward. Got a job, sort of got my life on track, but still held on to a lot of anger and bitterness which didn’t help. Somehow I allowed what had happened in my past to define me. So much so that I felt justified for being a bitch and treating people like crap because others had treated me like that. I was playing the victim as I didn’t know any different.

Life wasn’t overly joyful and happy but life was bearable. It was OK! At the ripe old age of 22 I went to an Angels concert and was having fun singing and dancing along to Doc Neeson. In that moment life was good.

In the blink of an eye my life turned upside down.

Out of nowhere I was hit over the head with a bottle that put a 2 inch gash in my head.  I was kicked, punched and beaten to a pulp. Must admit I don’t remember too much of it but do remember being in the hospital where I was told how lucky I was. Apparently the cut to my head had missed a main artery by only 2mm. Had it have hit the artery I would have been dead before I got to the hospital.

As a result of that night I ended up with uncontrollable tremors, migraines, memory loss, severe anxiety and regular panic attacks. I spiralled back into depression from there. Soon after, I lost my job as well as I was not longer able to function in my role.

Fast forward a few years and my life had continued to go down a bad path. I didn’t think it could get much worse but then I ended my marriage and found myself on my own with three young kids. This is where I hit the depths of my own personal hell one night while driving down the freeway (with my kids in the car) at 140 kmh looking for a decent tree to hit to end it all. I thought for some stupid reason this was the only way to end the pain. Suddenly I am sitting on the side of the road crying uncontrollably. I had no idea how I got there. I looked at my kids and thought to myself there has to be more to life than this.

When I got home I put the kids to bed and went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror at the mess I was. It was then that I realised no one was going to come and save me. I had to save myself. By making that decision, things just happened that helped me to make the changes I needed to turn my life around.

I began to make conscious decisions daily to turn my life around. Your mind is the only thing that you have total control over. How you think and how you react to situations is the key. Everything on this website can make a difference to your mindset if you really want to change.

It took me a long time to change my life but I am so glad that I did. I love my life now and everything that I do.  Understanding that everything I went through made me stronger and wiser. I now use that knowledge to help others overcome depression and improve the quality of their lives.

We all walk our own path and only we can truly understand how we feel. I get that. Everybody’s emotions are unique to them and them alone.

At the end of the day you are either comfortable where you are or ready to make the necessary changes to improve your life. It is time to stop blaming everyone else for what is wrong in your life and step up and take stock of what you really want your life to be. Now I am not saying it will be easy but you first have to look in the mirror and accept that this is your life and it is your choice whether you want to make it better. Nobody else is going to make you feel better or treat you better until you start treating yourself better.

We are all here on this human journey and yes we all messed up in some way. That’s life.
Are you going to let other people or your past determine your future and your happiness or are you ready to take back control and make the decision to be happy?

We are all conditioned and programmed from the moment we are born. Firstly by our parents unknowingly saying things that create damage to our subconscious minds that leaves invisible scars within us. My mother would always say things like “Don’t do that. What will people think?” This conditioned me to care about what people thought of me as well as question whether it was me or my actions that just were not good enough.  I was always told I was the problem child, the middle child, the black sheep of the family. I now understand how this shaped my behavior and my thinking.

We all have these thoughts within us that we are not good enough, worthy enough or smart enough. Then as we are growing up our schooling system and media reaffirm these thoughts. Let me tell you now that it is all bullshit. We are all good enough, worthy enough and smart enough. We just need to start believing it.

The most important thing is changing how we feel about ourselves. We have everything within us that we need to create whatever life we want. Years ago I wouldn’t have believed that, but I certainly do now.
