What is Hypnosis

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. This is where we allow our mind and body to relax, similar to meditation. It is a state in which we can tap into the subconscious mind to where we can allow changes to begin and therefore improve the quality of our lives.  Hypnosis is completely natural and harmless while performed by a fully trained professional. The human mind consists of the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. Our conscious mind is responsible for the way we  interpret things and our rational thinking. Difference Between Clinical Hypnosis and Stage Hypnosis

It is important to understand that I am talking about clinical hypnosis here. Clinical hypnosis will bring about serious life changes on every level for just about any problem that you could imagine. It has been proven effective with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, weight loss, self-esteem, overcoming phobias and so much more. With clinical hypnosis it is the idea of putting beneficial instructions into the subconscious mind to promote a healthy change in the individual. Due to our inbuilt protection mechanisms our subconscious mind will not allow us to do anything that will be harmful to us.

For example if an underweight person listens to a weight loss self-hypnosis program they will inevitably put on weight. The reason for this is the message is for the person to achieve an optimum weight for them. If they are underweight their subconscious will guide them to gain the weight rather than lose it.

Stage hypnosis on the other hand is entertainment only. A stage hypnotist will guide you to do things for entertainment purposes. Bear in mind again that your subconscious can protect you from doing anything that can harm you.
